Christmas and New Year 2022 – Bacs Processing Dates

Christmas is once again nearly upon us, and as we approach the busy festive season now is a great time to think ahead so you can relax and enjoy the festivities knowing that business is all in order.

With banks closed on December 24^th, 25^th, 26^th, 27^th, and 31^st as well as January 1^st,and 2^nd, knowing what dates to commit your files for collections on any specific date can be particularly confusing over the holidays. To help, we have prepared a guide for you to follow to ensure your files are collected when you need them. 

Bacs processing works on a 3-day cycle:

Day 1: Input Day          →         Day 2: Processing Day             →         Day 3: Payment Day

You need to send your file to Bacs two working days prior to the payment date (day 3). If you have any questions about this, please let us know – or maybe it’s time to consider BACS accredited training.

These dates are the latest you would need to submit your files to collect on the earliest possible dates:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Files must be submitted before midday on the submission date. Files submitted after midday will be sent the following working day.

All files must be valid to be submitted to Bacs.
